Scatterclips are weapons that trap whatever object focused on against a wall when thrown. When thrown with the verbal component 'Propel' the clips will go to the person aimed at and will drag them until they find something solid to attach to. As Ms. Octavia said in the first book, it can pick up others along the way, so the thrower must be careful because it could snag their friends as well. To make a clip lethal, the verbal component is 'Die a thousand deaths'. Then, the scatterclip will fly and embed itself into the chest of the target. They are paperclips unwound and bent in resemblance to a triangle with the two ends of its crossing sticking out prominently.
