Is Alex really dead?

As you know Alex (In the new unwanted quests book) dies. I think (or maybe hope) that Alex would not go out in such a, rr pathetic fashion, does anyone have any theory's. :)

Yes. His heart had stopped beating so that would mean he's dead

Alex is dead, there's no going around it. All the magic from Artimé is gone which means the head mage is dead, but honestly I didn't mind his death that much because this series isn't based on Alex, it's based on Thisbe and Fifer and the main focus should be on them, not Alex

A lot of users seem to think that Kitten or the seaweed can revive Alex. Unfortunately, this is false.

I think that Alex did die, but I don't think he'll stay dead. Thisbe and Fifer's magic is beyond comparison, we don't even know the extent of their abilities, and this is without training. It would be cool to see one (or both!) of them bring Alex back to life. It will show how far they've grown with their own magical abilities, also, Thisbe will finally get to see the Alex from the stories.

We've discussed this to such an extent I have been tempted to put a blanket ban on debate. It is 100% canon that Alex is dead. There is no rational way for him to be brought back from the dead. It isn't a question of pure power, it's a question of methods. There just isn't a way.

Why did alex have to die! Why can't the seaweed save him? Him and sky were my favorite people in the book series and now that Alex is dead I'm not really wanting to read the next book even if it just mainly about Fifer and Thisbe.

In answer to you question yes Alex is 100% dead and nothing can bring him back to life😭😭😭

Is Sky still going to be part of the book series?

@BleakInfinity

While I respect that you believe that Alex won't come back, you can't just assume there isn't a way. This book includes magic, and there are so many different directions you can take it in. The seaweed and kitten can't revive him because he IS dead, but who knows? Magic is still an option. We can't rule it out completely.

Actually, we can. While magic certainly does exist, there is certainly no way it can be used to resurrect someone, otherwise Marcus Today would almost certainly have developed it. Considering the extent he developed magic, which included bringing inanimate objects to life (which resembles bringing a cadaver back to life), it seems preposterous to believe the spell you are describing was never explored. There is no way Alex will return, not only due to his death and the improbability of his revival, it is also because Lisa McMann is done with Alex as a character.
